Zardari directs not to issue statements against MQM


ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has directed his party leaders not to issue statements against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) amid the rising tension between MQM and Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP).

According to sources, President Zardari telephoned Chief Minister (CM) Sindh Qaim Ali Shah and Provincial Interior Minister Zulfiqar Mirza directing them not to issue statements against MQM.

Meanwhile, Sindh Information Minister Shazia Murree said that reconciliation process with MQM will continue.

Talking to Geo News, Shazia Murree said PPP leadership following a clear policy for promoting political harmony in the country.

She said Provincial Interior Minister Zulfiqar Mirza might have adopted a hard tone during the speech, however the text did not contain harsh phrases.

‘President Zardari is promoting the reconciliation process, however PPP is not responsible to continue the same all alone.’

MQM leadership has been issuing statements on many a time, she continued.

She stressed PPP and MQM intend to work together forgetting their difference and added that MQM is our coalition party and will remain our ally in future as well.
