Waqar Younis made Pak team’s bowling/fielding coach

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed former captain Waqar Younis as bowling and fielding coach of the national cricket team.

Accordding to the PCB spokesman, this appointment has been made for Pakistan’s tour of Australia where the national team will play three Test matches, five One-day Internationals and a Twenty20 International.

Earlier, Waqar Younis was appointed bowling coach of the Pakistan team in 2006 but he had resigned from the job in early 2007 due to differences with the then chairman of the board Dr Nasim Ashraf.

However, this is strange to note that assistant coach Aaqib Javed, who is included in the team management, is also a bowlerin whose presence the new bowling and fielding coach has now been appointed.
